Who I support

You might be wondering why things feel harder than they should

Many of the people I work with are thoughtful, caring and capable adults who have spent years doing what needed to be done.

They’ve built careers, raised families, supported other people, contributed to their communities, or dedicated themselves to causes they care deeply about. From the outside, their life may look relatively together. Yet underneath, there can be a growing sense that something doesn’t feel right.

Perhaps relationships feel more difficult than they should. Emotions can feel bigger or harder to manage than expected. Certain situations seem to affect you more deeply than they affect other people. Or maybe you’re simply tired of carrying so much and wondering why life feels so exhausting.

Often, people come to therapy because they want more than temporary relief. They want to understand themselves.

When coping is no longer enough

Many of my clients have spent years finding ways to cope.

They’ve pushed through difficult experiences, adapted to challenging circumstances, cared for others, and kept going when life demanded a lot from them. Sometimes they’ve become so used to carrying the weight of everything that they barely notice how much energy it takes.

What we often discover is that present-day struggles are not happening in isolation. Experiences from the past, particularly the relationships and environments we grew up in, can continue to shape how we see ourselves, respond to stress, navigate relationships, and move through the world. Not always through obvious memories or major events, but through patterns that have developed over time.

This is especially true when emotional needs were overlooked, emotions weren’t understood or validated, or when life required you to adapt in ways that no longer serve you.

A space to make sense of your experiences

My work is grounded in helping people understand the connection between their past experiences and their present struggles.

Together, we can explore the patterns, reactions, beliefs and coping strategies that may have made sense at one point in your life but are now keeping you stuck.

My approach is collaborative, trauma-informed and deeply curious. I believe meaningful change comes from understanding yourself more fully, not from judging yourself for the ways you’ve learned to cope.

Moving towards a more connected life

Therapy isn’t about becoming a different person.

It’s about understanding yourself with greater compassion, feeling more emotionally grounded, building healthier relationships, and creating a life that feels more aligned with who you are and what matters to you.

If you’re ready to understand yourself more deeply and create lasting change, I’d be honoured to support you.
